Everyone at the Icebreaker Canada Office would like to give a big congratulations to Daria “Dasha” Gaiazova for a great performance at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. As a first time Olympian Dasha finished 22nd in the Ladies Individual Classic Sprint and 7th in the Ladies’ Team Sprint Free. Dasha has worked hard over the past 4 years preparing herself for the Olympics here in Canada. To help her train for the Games Icebreaker provided her with a complete set of Icebreaker gear to wear! Her Bodyfit leggings and tops kept her cool and warm when needed depending on the conditions of each event.

Prior to the Olympics Dasha took Icebreaker’s own Canadian Marketing Manager, Kent Hawkins, out on the course in Canmore Alberta’s Nordic Centre to give him the crash course on Nordic skiing. As a traditional Alpine skier the technique and stamina for Nordic skiing did not come naturally for Kent. However, Dasha pushed her coaching and training and soon he was able to hold his own and complete the 2km course.

Dasha has been a long time supporter of Icebreaker and we would like to show our support for her now too. Please help us to congratulate Dasha on her top 25 in the World ranking and wish her continued luck in her final event, Ladies’ Team Sprint Free. Please take a minute to learn more about Dasha through her profile on the Vancouver 2010 website here.
